An Indigenous rapper is pushing for the date of Australia Day to be changed to September 25 - the day Cathy Freeman won gold at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Rapper Rulla Kelly-Mansell said Freeman's victory was a 'moment in time that we were immersed in the beauty of our identity, as opposed to arguing about it'. After lighting the cauldron at the opening ceremony, Freeman overcame a huge amount of pressure to win gold in the 400m in front of 112,574 screaming fans.

Jose's growing old disgracefully! Mourinho may be a big fish in a smaller pond these days but, at 62, he's still making waves ... and headlines

Even the most divisive of figures in sport are occasionally capable of unifying opinions. Whether they worship or vilify him, any seasoned observer of Jose Mourinho will attest to his capacity to thrive in moments of controversy and use perceived slights to further his agenda. A manager whose towering success in football this century has always been down to a formula that's one-part tactical, one-part psychological warfare, the Portuguese is back in his happy place.

Dave Portnoy mocks part of Donald Trump's address to Congress that 'didn't quite land'

Barstool Sports founder and fervent Donald Trump supporter Dave Portnoy couldn't help but nitpick one particular line from the President's address to Congress on Tuesday night. When Trump declared 'the days of rule by unelected bureaucrats are over,' Portnoy was quick to reference the President's billionaire donor Elon Musk. 'Gotta admit this one didn't quite land since Elon is basically Co-President,' Portnoy remarked on X. Musk may only be listed as a 'special government employee,' but he's already wielding remarkable cost-cutting power through the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency.

Travis Kelce is expected to break down his decision to keep on playing in the NFL on Wednesday in the latest New Heights episode, filmed in-person with his older brother Jason. There was genuine belief that Kelce, 35, would call it a day after the emphatic loss in the Super Bowl in New Orleans in February, where the Philadelphia Eagles beat his Kansas City Chiefs 40-22. After agonizing over the decision, Kelce confirmed last week that he wasn't prepared to bring the curtain down on a glittering career after such a heavy loss.
